Thank you, Klaus and Elke, another person replied to my earlier post and
pointed me to Nartum, near Gyhum. Apparently that town was spelled "Narten"
during the 19th Century. That proved to be the right place. I have found my
family in the Kirchenbuch for Gyhum, although I have not quite finished
looking through the complete records.
