Hi,
I just found the postages about the Rahenkamp Family while surfing through the web. Although I'm not sure if I really could help you with putting the different Rahenkamp families together, I may have some interesting information for you.
First of all, I want to describe my 'relation' to the Rahenkamp family:
According to earlier researchers, and Robert Rahenkamp,
the original RAHENKAMP farm was/is in the community of Grambergen. In 1939
it belonged to the Wolfman family, and in 1976 it was occupied by the
Hoffman family. Robert Rahenkamp says the Schledehausen (Lutheran) parish
records give reference to Jeggen, Schenburg, Linne and Grambergen where the
Rahenkamp families lived.
Yes, the original Rahenkamp farm is in Grambergen. In 1939, it belonged to Heinrich Waldmann who is my great-grandfather. Im 1979, the Hofmann family was living on that farm - well, Arno and Elly Hofmann were living there. They are my grandparents. The farm still belongs to my father, Friedrich Waldmann, who married Regina Hofmann in 1961. Nowadays, my sister is living at that place.
My family bought the Rahenkamp farm in 1856. They did not buy the farm from the Rahenkamp family! The last Rahenkamp living on that farm was Caspar Heinrich Rahenkamp and his family. Caspar Heinrich Rahenkamp was born on the Hecket farm in Hiddinghausen. I don't know how he became the owner of the Rahenkamp farm but like it was ususal, he changed his name to Rahenkamp when he became the owner of the farm. That must have happened sometime before 1783. The children were all called Rahenkamp. So here is the information that I have about his family:
Caspar Heinrich Hecket named Rahenkamp, born abt. 1750, died Oct 21, 1813 in Grambergen. He married Maria Elisabeth Erk Oct 22, 1776 in Schledehausen. She was born about 1752 in Hiddinghausen and died Sep 8, 1813.
Children:
Catharine Lisabetha, born Jul 5, 1778
Nicolaus Heinrich, born Feb 2, 1780, died Mar 16, 1845. He married Marie Elisabeth Moormann Nov 14, 1827 in Schledehausen.
Anna Angela (Engel), born Jun 9, 1783
Maria Elisabeth, born Dec 21, 1785, died Jul 31, 1797
Caspar Heinrich, born Sep 8, 1789
Maria Elisabeth, born Mar 19, 1792, died Apr 18, 1847 unmarried.
Heinrich Ludwig, born Jul 28, 1795
Anna Elisabeth Rahenkamp, born Jun 1, 1799, died Jul 17, 1884 in Guttenberg, Clayton County, Iowa, married Hermann Heinrich Brandt Mar 17, 1831 in Schledehausen.
Caspar Heinrich Hecket named Rahenkamp had depts. In the 1780th, he got money from a businessman called Tenge of the city of Osnabrck. In 1805, this Tenge insisted on the Rahenkamp have to be sold for Caspar Heinrich Hecket did not pay back the loan that he gave him. Documents concerning this are still exisiting at the Staatsarchiv in Osnabrck (national archives). So I'm sure the farm was sold in that time.
At the same time, there happend to be another Rahenkamp family in Grambergen. Bals Adam Rahenkamp died in 1802 at the age of 56. He lived in a small farm house that belonged to the Volbert farm. His wife, Maria Elisabeth Erk! (not the same like the wife of Caspar Heinrich Rahenkamp), died 1821 as widow at the age of 74. Her burial entry gives some additional information. It says that she was married twice and that she was married for 27 and a half year. She was a widow since 20 years and she had 5 children, three of them still living when she died.
Next to this I can give you a list of Rahenkamps who lived in the parish of Schledehausen in December 1852. There happened to be a census in the Kingdom of Hannover and I transripted the lists for Schledehausen.
Jeggen No. 21a, Anna Elisabeth Rahenkamp, farm maid, 15 years old
Wulften No. 15a, Maria Engel Rahenkamp, farm maid, 36 years old
Wulften No. 18a, Johann Wilhelm Rahenkamp, widower, 73 years old
Wissingen No. 10a, Adam Heinrich Rahenkamp, Heuerling (tenant), 42 years old,
Cathar. E. Rahenkamp, his wife, nee Kruel, 40 years old,
M. E. Rahenkamp, his daughter, 15 years old,
G. H. Rahenkamp, his son, 13,
Johanna Carolina Rahenkamp, his daughter, 11,
Catharine E. Rahenkamp, his daughter, 8, M. Gertrud Rahenkamp, his daughter, 6,
Eduard Aug. Died. Rahenkamp, his son, 3, Anna Dorothea Rahenkamp, his daughter, 1 year old.
Linne No. 1a, Gerhard Heinrich Rahenkamp, farm hand, 15 years old
Linne No. 7a, Kath. Engel Rahenkamp, farm maid, 20 years old
Linne No. 9b, Maria Engel Rahenkamp, widow, 60 years old
Grambergen No. 3a, Hermann Heinrich Rahenkamp, poor person, 76 years old
Grambergen No. 10a, Maria Elisabeth Rahenkamp, farm maid, 24 years old
Grambergen No. 10b, Maria Engel Rahenkamp, never married, 72 years old
Grambergen No. 13a, Anna Maria Rahenkamp, farm maid, 19 years old
Ellerbeck No. 7a, Joh. Heinr. Rahenkamp, farm hand, 17 years old
Astrup No. 4b, Hermann Rahenkamp, tailor, 18 years old
So there's only on family left. All the other Rahenkamps are single persons. Next to these people there may be others whose maiden name is Rahenkamp. But only the list of Wissingen mentiones the maiden name. E. G. The Maria Engel Rahenkamp who lived at Grambergen 10b was living with her brother-in-laws family. This brother-in-law was Heinrich Brandt. So I guess that this Maria Engel Rahenkamp is the same like Anna Angela (Engel) Rahenkamp, daughter of Caspar Heinrich Hecket named Rahenkamp, born 1783. The house No. 10b is right next to the Rahenkamp farm! (which was No. 16.)
