Dear Listers,
In the spring issue of German Genealogical Digest, an article COLONIES AND
COLONISTS IN POMMERANIA, Frederican colonies and colonists in Pommerania as
they stood in the year 1754, by Otto Gebhard of Berlin-Lichterfelde, Appendix
A, lists an colony of Jägersberg (Pasewalk) laid out as a cottager-colony in
1749 for 10 Catholic Palatine families. See VIERECK Pages 14,15.
My questions are: 1. Was the colony VIERECK an allodium [freeholding]
settlement, an entrepreneur? 2. Were there VIERECKS that established this
colony? From where did they immigrate? 3. Are there any sources available
where I can find more information regarding this colony?
I've had such wonderful help from this list, I had hoped someone might be
able to help me with this Pommeranian problem. Many thanks for any help.
