Hello...

I have been directed to this list by a friendtold me that I might find
some help...

My grand father Romauld Rychwalski was married in 1909 in the church of
the sacred Heart of Jesus in Augustow, Suwalki to Apolonia Kaczynski.

My father was born in the same town on July 8, 1910.

When I visited the church, I was told that they did not posess any
records before 1890, therefor the was no record of the birth for Romauld
Rychwalski in 1882 or 1883., nor did they have any alegata for his
marraige in 1909.

Would some kind soul direct me to the proper source of these records...

I am an old man and have been searching since 1963...

I am afraid that Suwalki cannot be considered part of East Prussia.
It was part of Russian Poland in 1910.

  From 1870 the RC records were kept in Russian, it seems.
