I have been trying unsuccessfully to find birth and marriage certificate for
my
grandparents. Here are the details:
JAKOB BASTIAN born May 18, 1852 in Halbstadt, West Prussia (copied from
naturalization paper.
He married REGINA WESLOWSKI July 3, 1858 daughter of George Weslowski
and Regina Buschman in Prussia. Date unknown
They had two children: Anna and Paul born in Prussia. They immigrated May
9,
1882 and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. They were Catholic.
I have all the particulars of their nine children, plus the grandparents
death dates,
etc.
I am trying to find proof of Jacob's birth plus his parents' names. I have
exhausted LDS records. Gross Lesewicz is supposed to have the Catholic
records but I cannot find Jakob. I understand Halbstadt is now Polish,
Polmieci
I will be very grateful if you could suggest what I could do now.

HALBSTADT is belong to church SCHADWALDE, region Marienburg,
The ev. church-books of SCHADWALDE put in Berlin in "Evangelischen Zentralrchiv"
from 1643-1874.
For katholic peopl you must writen to the BISCHOEFLICHES ZENTRALARCHIV in
Regensburg.
