the German obituaries are nothing like what is done over here, where you can
actually read biographical info.
It is usually a black framed announcement of death, paid for by the family,
listing the departed, some names of survivers and the time and place of
burial arrangements. Most obituaries are notices send in black framed
envelopes to friends and relatives, they are interesting to collect.
How far back in Newspapers they go, I do not know. But if you use
www.google.de and ask for Niedersachsen Newspapers, you will get a listing.
