We are searching for a Karl SIEVERT from Neu Kentzlin. He came about the same time that your ancestor did. His wife, Dora WILL was from Kastorf in Mecklenburg. They settled in La Porte, Indiana. Karl was killed in a railroad accident in 1856. His widow married a William LUTH/LUTE, who was from Sommersdorf. This village is not very far from Alt and Neu Kentzlin.
As I have researched this problem, I read that people from this area of Pommern thought of themselves, as being from Mecklenburg and not from Pommern. The man-made border between these two areas certainly did not make any difference to them.
