According to family tradition, they were both born after civil registration
started, and I'm wondering if that would make a difference.
If you are talking about records in the church registers, from my experience
researching in Mecklenburg, I have found that the number of entries in the
church registers were drastically reduced after the beginning of civil
registration. Your cases may be similar. Or perhaps they were baptized in
another church parish.
