There are films of the church records from this area available at the LDS
Family History Centers. See if there is one in your area and browse the
available films at familysearch.org
For Lutten, Vechta, Oldenburg try film # 89645. It contains birth(Taufen),
marriage(Heiraten), and death(Tote) records from 1674 to 1875.
There are other churches in the Vechta area to check if he is not in the
film above.
FYI- A German "v" is pronounced as an English "f."
