Hi List,
           I am wondering if someone can help me. One of my ancestors Clifford Jacobsohn (later Jackson) married Dorothea Jaster in 1914 in Canada. On various documents I have such as passenger lists and their marriage certificate Dorothea is described as coming from Jastrow, Poland but on others she gives her nationality as German and her birthplace was Germany. Is anyone familiar with a place called Jastrow in Germany or a similar name which could have been anglicised? Any suggestions? Her religion was given as Lutheran.

I used to look for a place called Juschow in Pomerania.
I have never found this place.
Now after your inquire I believe it is actually Jastrow.

What is the family name you are looking for?

My ancestors are Fantow / Fanthow.
