I have been trying to change my language preferences on this list from
German to English without any success.Any advice on this matter?
If you expect to receive the German postings translated to English then I
have to tell you that this doesn't work.
You can change the preferred language in the list software interface to
the effect that password reminders, the web interface etc. will be in
English
Go to
http://list3.genealogy.net/mailman/listinfo/westfalen-L
Pick "English", "Deutsch" or "Holländisch" in the first Option Box ("View
this page in ....") and click the button next to it.
Scroll down to the end of the page
Enter your email-Adress where it says "Unsubscribe or Edit Options" and
click the button
You will be asked to enter your list password. If you don't have it at
hand (there's a password reminder once a month) you can have it sent to
you.
After having logged in successfully you are ready to change your options.
The one you are intersted in is "What language do you prefer?" or in
German "Welche Sprache bevorzugen Sie?" Pick your favourite.
Click the very last button "Submit my Options" and you are done.
