I have an ancestor, Carsten Wilhelm GOTTSCHALK, who immigrated to U.S. in
1854 with his wife Christina Maria NIEMANN. Their daughter, Eliza Wilhelmina
[my paternal grandmother] married Heinrich Christian Wilhelm WINTERHOFF of
Homewood, Cook County, Illinois. I have no earlier information on this
family. However, there were many GOTTSCHALK's in Illinois.
