in this case, I don't think there is any relation between 'Herrlichkeit
Goedens' and the family name Gode. However, I have seen the names Gode and Gude and
Degode in old registers of the Oldenburg area.

I thought perhaps Goedens may have been a plural form of Gode.
I have had a little bit of success with some Gode ancestors from the
Oldenburg and Varel although I have quite a bit more research to do.
