Re: Gemeindelexikon 1908 Schlesien

Thank you for your reply. It will help me trace my relatives, surnames
Hammer, Hammer von Hammerstein and Schober.

My grandfather, Gustave Hammer, Catholic and was born in Greiffenberg in 1864
and baptized in that city in 1865. I have an original signed church document
to confirm this fact. His father was Paul Hammer a civil engineer who worked
for the railroad in Nieder Wiesa, his mother was Amelia geb. Schober. I dont
believe that they lived in Greiffenberg for a long period of time as I have
been unable to find any information on the family while researching the LDS
microfilm for the Greiffenberg church. (just yesterday).

If any one on this list has any information on how to track down church
records for the catholic church in Greiffenberg, now Gryfow Slaski Poland
please contact me. Also is there is a cost and if so what it may be.

Is there a possibility that the records for the period of 1860-1900 are still
at the Greiffenberg church or atr another location in the city of
Greiffenberg?.
