<< Dear list members,
my ancient computer keeps crashing on me, and I would dearly like to back up
all my ancestral data collected in Familytreemaker version 7 as well as the
whole program if that is possible. Unfortunately, I am not able to discern
which are program files, and which are my data. There is a whole bunch of
files and folders on my computer all named "FTM" by the program.
Can somebody please help?
Kind regards,

Petra,
You've been so helpful. Glad there is something that I now can help with.
Open up your FamilyTreeMaker program. Click on File. click on Backup Family
Tree File. IF you are saving to a disk - Click on floppy drive A:
It will save it onto your disk. So incase of emergency you have a good copy.
If you ever need to reinstall your FTM program, you can do that & then add
your data off of the back up disk.
Good Luck
