Thank you so much for the information-- I just looked at one of the papers that has a little more info on my great great grandfather August gustav Bode-- it says Dassensen, Hanover-- that was 1886-- but, I can't find where that is-- it's probably a spelling error or something--

The good news is that there is a town by the name of Dassensen which
is south/southwest of Einbeck. The LDS do not have church records, but only
this:
Zivilstandsregister, 1808-1813 Dassensen (Kr. Einbeck, Hannover).
Standesamt
There is a church on the map, but I don't know if it was there when
your people lived there.
By the way, who emigrated from there and if in the U.S., where did
they live and when did they arrive?

Dassensen lies 6 km southwest of Einbeck and about 30 km north of Göttingen (all in the former Kingdom of Hannover).
