I have been searching for a long time for any marriage records or ANY
records for these ancestors. All I have come up with is that they came
from Mecklenburg-Schwinn, arrived in US September, 1889, left Hamburg,
Germany in 1888. Frederick Rachow, his wife Bertha Harder-Rachow, and 4
children came with them, Albert, Ernest, Florence and another son.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, I would appreciate any info as
I am new to this but really would like to know my ancestry and what their
life was like.
Thank yuou.

Hello Alberta,
did you already check the Hamburg immigration list under :
You can seeif under your last name are given the people with your first names. If
there are hits you have to decide, if you want to pay the fee for full informa-
tions, which might show theplace of origin more precisely.
Good luck Hans Peter Albers, Bienenbttel
P.S.: in 2002 the list went back to 1990, so they should be today much more deep
in going back including the earlier ship-lists into the data-base.
You might want to try the northern part of Mecklenburg. I have both RACHOW
and HARDER ancestors from the Dreveskirchen parish. I know there were
HARDERs in Dreveskirchen as late as 1751 per Schubert. I believe my RACHOW
ancestors had moved to nearby Alt Gaarz. All of the Mecklenburg parish
records have been microfilmed and are available at the LDS family history
centers for review.
Similarly Mecklenburg 19th century census information can be very helpful.
Unfortunately, I don't have anything specific on your two ancestors.
