Prussian Localities

Thanks to all for the excellent responses on the locality names. It seems
that the responses I received indicated with some certainty that COPLINS was
actually COBLENZ, and most thought that KRIESNAGH or KRIESWAGH was, in fact,
supposed to have been KREUZNACH. I took a look at the Germany map yesterday
ands see that these two places are about 50 miles (85 km or so) apart.

The relative (John JECKELL) that listed COPLINS, Prussia as the home of
origin, sailed from Antwerp with his parents and several siblings.

The relative (Frank JACKALL) that listed Kriesnagh, Prussia as the home of
origin, sailed from Hamburg. This relative was the oldest son of the family
I have assumed that since he did not leave Prussia at the same time as his
siblings and parents, perhaps he stayed back to settle the family matters
(sell the farm/house, etc), and then departed at a later date.

Another lister also suggested that since this son was the oldest sibling, it
was possible that he was actually born in Kreuznach, and then the family
moved north to Koblenz, where his brothers and sisters may have been raised.
.

So, now I am hoping to find which ship this Frank JACKALL sailed on, and
locate family records in the churches of Koblenz and Bad Kreuznach to trace
back the line.

I am hopeful, as the LDS website has some JECHEL people listed from Koblenz,
and they may be related to my line.

Thanks again for all of the responses. Any other suggestions are always
welcome!

Best regards,
Joe
