Is that Prussian uniform? Might it have been WWI uniform? I
suppose I need to study up on my history.
First of all, let me say that I have no definite information about Franz
Mueller (my grandfather's half-brother) in that photo, except that he was
born in 1881. I'd guess, though, that his years in the military would
have been from between 1900-1910, and that he was not in the WWI army.
Do you have any Mueller people that might have lived in Mo. or
Illinois?
No. All of my Muellers went straight from Germany to Nebraska, and
that's the only place the Mueller name has survived -- and now that is
very tenuous. From a group of 2 brothers and a nephew, I have only 2
nephews who can carry on the name. They are 30-40 years old, and the
prospect of their having any sons is very dim. It's not any better in
Germany. Franz had only daughters.
