Province or Town

Hello,

My ancestors the KLUSKE's sailed from Hamburg to South Australia in 1854. Johann August KLUSKE wrote that he was a 'landsman', what does this mean please, from L"asgen or Laesgen in Brandenburg Silesia. I have tried looking up this name on old maps and maps of Poland but cannot find it. Can someone help please?

Also with the name KLUSKE. It appears to be very rare as I cannot find any other trace of them.

Thank You,
Pauline KLUSKE

Hello Pauline,

there are two villages in Silesia named LAESGEN.
1. LAESGEN, now LASKI ODRZANSKIE, NW from GRUENBERG, now ZIELONA GORA, and
2. LAESGEN, now Lazy, on the Polish/German border, near SORAU/TRIEBEL/TEUPLITZ,
now ZARY/TRZEBIEL/TUPLICE.
If you want, I would send you some parts of German and Polish maps.

Greetings Iserlohn, Germany
