Hi Barb,
in the list of Prigges maried in Apensen - which was provided by Horst on
July 23 - are three Joachim Prigge who married approx. in those years during
which your Joachim Prigge and Katharina Luttmer should have married, namely one
Joachim Prigge in 1868 an the others in 1873 and 1874.
I just talked to the parish office of Apensen asking the secretary whether
one of these Joachim Prigge was married to Katharina Luttmer. Unfortunately,
Katharina Luttmer was not the bride.
The engaged couples were:
1868 Joachim Prigge and Metta Brunckhorst
1873 Joachim Prigge and Katharina Ehlers
1874 Joachim Priggie and M..(?) Hohlengel
I have been informed by the secretary that no person named Luttmer married
at that time in Apensen. Sorry.
Have a nice day,
Albin
Good evening, Albin -
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop in at the church! How very
nice of you!
It is very interesting that a Joachim married a Brunckhorst, since (my
grandfather) Henry's brother Peter married a Margarethe Brunkhorst. I will
try again to find more about the Brunckhorst family; Margarethe is the only
one I have so far.
I only have the birth years of two of the children of "my" Joachim and
Katharina - 1881 and about 1890. By that, it seems she was probably born
between about 1850 and 1866, so I'm thinking the marriage must have been a
bit later than the three listed.
However, who knows, perhaps Joachim was older and had really been married
twice, once to a Katharina (Ehlers?) and later to a Luttmer...or maybe the
Katharina or the Luttmer name is incorrect. Or, it all could be correct but
sitting in Buxtehude records! Genealogy is such an interesting puzzle!
Thank you again, Albin!
Barb
Hello again,
I forgot to tell you of another website that has many Prigges from
Buxetude as well as Hedendorf, Neukloster and other towns in the same area.
I never can load the Family Treemaker sites so I don't know for sure what's
in it. Maybe you can:

Don't forget that the LDS have Apensen church records! Unfortunately,
there are only voting registers in Buxetude.
I think you are on your way to finding your family.
Barbara
