Pressentin

Good Morning,

Thanks for your note. I wish I could be right there as you make your discoveries.

Please do not have any concerns about the length of time it takes. I know you are busy and it is important to me that you do not feel a sense of urgency so that there is a chance something would be missed.

I look forward to hearing from you and again I thank you.

Sincerely.

Marcia

Hi,

Didn't you get the e-mail I sent you September 12? Here I attach that
mail again.

Hi,

Here is an excerpt from the "von Gammsche Stammtafel bis 1709 mit
Zusätzen nach vorhandenen Nachrichten" which is attached to the book
"Geschichte und Stammtafeln der Glieder des Geschlechts von Pressentin
(Prestin)" written by Wilhelm von Pressetin, published 1899,
Bärenschprungschen Hofbuchdruckerei, Schwerin (the first three
generations are probably quite uncertain, I only mention those who
continues the family):

Generation 1:
Petrus von Pressentin (or Prestin), mentioned in a written source 1270.
Owner of Prestin manor. Petrus (mentioned 1290, alive 1328) and Henning
(mentioned 1300) were possibly his sons.

Generation 2:
Henning von Pressentin, mentioned 1300. Owner of Prestin. Two possible
known sons, Henning and Petrus (both mentioned as Knappe [squire]).

Generation 3:
Petrus von Pressetin, mentioned 1348, 1364. Owner of Prestin. Four known
sons, Reimar, Helmold, Claus and Henning.

Generation 4:
Henning von Pressetin, owner of Prestin, Weitendorf, Witzin, Sternberg
Rittersitz and Kobrow (bought Kobrow in 1397). Seems to have lived in
Sternberg town. Wife's name probably Eva Edle Frau von Putlitz. Two
sons, Petrus and Reimar.

Generation 5:
Reimar von Pressentin, mentioned 1408, 1409, 1419, 1420. Owned and lived
on Prestin. Two sons, Claus and Hartwig.

Generation 6:
Hartwig von Pressentin, metioned between 1462 and 1490. Owner of
Prestin, Mustin and Sternberg Rittersitz. Was mayor of Sternberg, and
lived probably mostly in the town. Was probably quite rich. Married to
Anna von Cramon aus dem Hause Mustin. Two children, Ursula and Reimar.

Generation 7:
Reimar von Pressetin, mentioned 1496, died after 1521. Owned Prestin,
Stieten and Sternberg Rittersitz. Lived probably mostly on Stieten
manor. Married about 1487 to NN (possibly MAria Margarete) von Barner.
Four children, Anna, Bernd, Dinnies and Katharina.

Generation 8:
Dinnies von Pressentin, born 1490 (probably October 9), died on Prestin
between 17 July 1573 and 24 February 1574. Owner of Prestin,
Gross-Stieten and Sternberg Rittersitz. Married to Ilse von Lohe aus dem
Hause Scharfstorf-Beidendorf (she died between 1595 and 1609). Nine
children, Johann, Reimar, Hartwig, Katharina, Diliana, Bernd, Emerentia,
David and Ilse (this Ilse is my wife's ancestor).

Generation 9:
Bernd von Pressentin, mentioned 1577, died in 1626. Owner of Stieten,
Weitendorf and Sternberg Rittersitz. Lived in his older years in
Sternberg. Married to Katharina von Plessen aus dem Hause Bruel. Four
children, Cuno Helmuth, Reimar Joachim, Ilsche and Dorothea.

Generation 10:
Cuno Helmuth von Pressentin, born ca. 1590, died May 1640. Owner of
Weitendorf, Sternberg Rittersitz and a part of Kaarz. Married 1621
Elisabeth von Wopersnow aus dem Hause Keetz (born ca 1600, died 14 Jan.
1676). Five children, Juergen, Ulrich, Helmuth, Bernd and Dorothea.

Generation 11:
Bernd von Pressentin. Born 18 June 1639, died 24 March 1709. Married 12
Sept. 1665 Anna Dorothea von Pressetin (a daughter of his 2nd cousin
Claus (1601-1654, owner of Prestin and Stieten, grandson of Hartwig
mentioned as a son in Generation 8, that line died with him)). With her
inheritance, Bernd became the owner of Prestin, Weitendorf, Stieten,
Kaarz and Sternberg Rittersitz. Anna Dorothea was born 24 Nov. 1642 and
died 6 Nov. 1722.

All later Pressetins are descendants of Bernd and Anna Dorothea. They
had 10 children, Hartwig Helmuth, Claus Juergen, Bernd Ulrich, Nicolaus
Otto, Elisabeth, Eva, Ilse Maria, Hedwig, Katharina Juliana and
Balthasar. From their 4 sons who survived childhood (Claus Juergen died
as an infant) came the four later lines of the Pressetin family:

Generation 12:

a) Hartwig Helmuth von Pressentin, born 1666, died 1737. Owner of manor
Weitendorf.

b) Bernd Ulrich von Pressentin, born 1669, died 1702. Owner of manor
Prestin.

c) Nicolaus Otto von Pressentin, born 1671, died 1732. Owner of manor
Stieten.

d) Balthasar von Pressentin, born 1688, died 1748. Owner of manor Kaarz.

This is were my information stops.
