I am looking for information on this family and extended fanily who came to America in 1873.
Bernhard II Friedrich von Pressentin (1814-1893 )
I think he had 13 children. Not all of them left Germany.
How can I learn more of this family?

Do you know, where he came from?
I have a Bernhard Heinrich Pressentin
(ca.1800-ca.1870), factory worker in Schwerin.
Unfortunately, I have not yet any more details about
him.
Greetings from Berlin,

I appreciate your response. I am interested in any and all Pressentins . Am
trying to find to whom I belong.
Thank you and I would like to hear from you again.
Best wishes,

Pressentin is an old noble Mecklenburg family, I guess you can find more
in the Gotha, see also e.g.
http://home.foni.net/~adelsforschung/meck00.htm.
Two of my wife's ancestors were married to Pressentin's according to a
family tree of the Rappe family in the "Genalogische Archivsammlung" in
the Mecklenburgische Landeshauptarchiv" in Schwerin: Hans v. Rappe,
mayor of Sternberg in the first half of the 16th century was in his
second marriage married to a Ilsabe v. Pressentin (mentioned in 1531),
nothing is mentioned of her ancestry. His son Adam v. Rappe who also was
mayor of Sternberg (mentioned as that in the period 1600-1607) and who
died in or before 1616 was married to Ilse v. Pressentin. I have a bit
trouble reading parts of the handwritten text, but I think it says that
Ilse von Pressentin was born ca. 1553 and was the daughter of Dinnies
von Pressentin zu Sternberg, Pochtein u. Stieten (the two last names are
just guesses) and his wife Ilse von Lohe a.d.h. (of the noble house)
Scharfstorf-Beidendorf, still alive in 1617.
