Plattdeutsch

Aren't there many dialects of Platt? I have some ancestors from Pommern
and some from the eastern part of Brandenburg -- in reality only a couple
hundred miles apart at the most. Yet, I've been told that their speech
was quite different from each other. My mother was the granddaughter of
these families, and she remembers how the language was different in each
home.

And then she married my father, whose parents came from Hannover and
eastern Mecklenburg-Strelitz, each again having their own unique form of
Platt.

Sure there are. But you better substitute the PLATT througt DIALEKTE.
And all those really interested in knowing about may ask
YAHOO Germany. Just typing in "DIALEKTE".
The result will be astonishing to them as it was to me. And i was born in
Germany many years ago.

Or go directly to.
