Heinrich Christian (usual name: Christian) Hoppe was a soldier in the army
of the bishopric of Münster. According to so-called "Muster Liste" of
1733 and 1735 he was born in "Eheligeroh" or "Ehelingrodde" around
1690-1705. Does anyone know what is the present name and location of his
birth place? For any suggestions where to look for his baptism record I
would also be grateful.
Okay, ending on "rode" like "Eheligeroh"....
I just tried to give an idea or some help, sorry.
Have a nice time,
Max

Exact, that's a fact, Heidi!
One should search and find a place "near" Münster, I guess, but....
Ecklingerode ends with "rode", that's true!
Einen schönen Sonntag für Dich, Heidi!

Thanks to everyone who has come forward with useful suggestions. Christian
Hoppe married for a catholic priest (twice) and his children were baptised
catholic also. In the two 'Muster Liste' of the Munsterian company in which
he served is only about half of Münsterland, there were soldiers in this
company born in the Schweiz (the soldier concerned was actually witness at
the marriage of Christian), in Hessen, Rheinland etc.
