Pirmasenz/Pirmasens

Hello Bob,
I have nothing to add to you query.
However, my late cousin's name was Fred (Fritz) Doerr. His grandfather
was Otto Doerr, a wellknown painter in his time. Otto was married to my
gr-grandmother's sister. They lived near Schwerin, Mecklenburg, which is on
the east side of the river Elbe, and the province of Hannover/Niedersachsen
is on the westside. I don't think Doerr is a very rare name, but one never
knows what can happen when a name is mentioned.
Fred was my second- cousin- once- removed (about my father's age). He
immigrated in the ealry thirties to Canada and was an outfitter and trapper.
When he retired he moved with his family (he married late) to Duncan, on
(beautiful!) Vancouver Island, Brit. Columbia, Canada, where we live (and
immigrated to in 1953).
My husband and I have travelled a lot but never to the Ozarks -
hopefully we will get old enough and stay fit enough to do all that is
"left" to do!! Saw a lot of pictures of your area.
    Greetings and best wishes,
     Oda Nowrath.
