Dear Barbara, I tried your suggestions. The metasearch site claimed to have no info on Pagel or Fischer in Oberscheden. The man called Michael Hedtke wasn't the correct email address. My server said there was no host as dry-bund.de so the message I wrote him couln't be forwarded. Do you have any other suggestions on how to reach this person.Do you know of a web site that has the maps of the areabetween Kassel and Hannover that I could print out? My maps have only Rt 3 on it with no names of towns, only Dransfeld. I tried map quest. Thank you for your help. Adele Hynes

I just wrote an email to Michael Hedtke and it went through very
easily. I asked him to answer me --then I will send the message to you. I
see in your letter that you had written dry-bund.de rather than the
drv-bund.de which is probably right:
Michael.Hedtke@drv-bund.de
You could try again - I think it will go through.
Oberscheden will show on mapquest.com. Be sure that you go to
"outside U.S and Canada" -- then choose the country Germany. Then type in
Oberscheden. There will be a star where the town is. On the left side of
the map you can zone in (go up) and will see the towns more easily. Both
Niderscheden and Oberscheden will show up. You can also zoom out (go down)
to get the bigger picture of where Hannover and Kassel are in relation to
Oberscheden.

I can't find any email address for Michael Hedtke. Maybe you could
write letters (or call) some people in the area near Oberscheden. If you go
to the German phone book, there are a number of Fischers that live in the
Dransfeld area. Those names are also in Göttingen.
I really haven't found anything else. My only suggestion is to do a lot
of different Fischer and Pagel Google searches. Sometimes you can just come
across some helpful information. You could write Dransfeld for church
records. Also, you can look at all the Pagels and Fischers on the Rootsweb
site.

The .de at the end of of his email address indicates that he is in Germany.
