The parents of this Johann Henrich Ahlers (born17May1818 R C Varnhorn) are Johan Herman Luers (Janluers) ,who named himself Ahlers , and was the son of Arndt Henrich Pundsack (genannt Janluers) and Gesina Maria Albers (Luers) and Maria Elizabet Neman , daughter of Anton Neman and AnnaMaria Wuebbels.. She ,the widow Ahlers , was the widow of Johan Alard Hurrelberg from Endeln who had married Catharina Maria Ahlers born on 5August 1777 in Varnhorn on 2 Aug1808 ,(and who thereafter named himself Ahlers) This Catharina Maria was daughter of Johannes Josephus Ahlers born in Varnhorn in 1738 and Catharina Budde .When Catharina died ,Johan now Mr Ahlers ,married Maria Elizabeth Neman who in turn became the new Mrs Ahlers . After Johan died ,the now Mrs Ahlers married Johan Herman Luers ,who in turn named himself Mr Ahlers . After Maria Elizabeth died ,Johan Herman Luers (now Ahlers) married (or was given little choice but to marry ) Anna Catharina Ahlers ,who was born a generation later in 1798 to yet another Johan Henrich Ahlers .(a real Ahlers) and Anna Maria Hagstedt .. Hence the son of Johan Herman Luers (Ahlers genannt) and Maria Elizabeth Neman (also genannt Ahlers) , could not pass inheritance rights to their grandson ,who migrated to Ohio and married AnnaMaria Hellman on 4Feb1849 in Cincinnati ..This Johan Henrich Ahlers is the forefather of professor Dr Allen Bernard ,professor emiritus at Cincinnati University and retired Director of special Education in Ohio .
In those days one married the farming rights to land ,.the name came with it !
