Geerhte runde,
I have a document on a soldier, embarking on a Dutch VOC ship (Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie). The origin of said soldier is clearly written as: "Kier in Halsstein". However, I have no clue as to where that might be. Any suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks,
Martijn
Dear Martijn,
I think this should be "Kiel in Holstein". Kiel is the Capital City of Schleswig-Holstein.

Aber dass ist in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Ich weiss nicht wie dass damals war.
