RE: translation of hoferbe, hoferbin

Harry has probably solved your problem already, but I believe hoferbe is a farm inheritance, and hoferbin is a woman who receives such. I don’t know what “colon” would mean.
I have run into some words that appear to be German, but are more specifically a regional dialect. I once attempted to translate song lyrics I found on a webpage from Niederoesterreich, and Google Translate didn’t know what to do with it. Over half of it came out the way it went in.
Since then, I’ve joined a facebook group that is working to preserve the Walviertel dialect. If I run into a Germanic word in an Austrian record that I can’t decipher, I will definitely ask them for help.
