Oldenburg emigration - travel between Oldenburg and the Netherlands

Hello,
already in the middle ages and even more so from the 16th and 17th century
onwards there was frequent travelling between Oldenburg and the Netherlands.
People living near the Weser or the North Sea travelled by boat, others over
land. The Netherlands became a wealthy country attracting working people from
Germany, and so from Oldenburg.
One ancestor of mine went to Harlingen, Netherlands, around 1750, to go
fishing with a dutch vessel up to greenland and iceland.

This isn't Oldenburg but it's close. Also in the 1700s a couple of
half-brothers of my ancestor moved from a village east of Osnabrck to
Holland. They fathered some children and I now have zillions of cousins
in Holland, and a few in Australia, South Africa, and Michigan.
