I am new to this list and I am hoping that someone might be able to help me.
I do not speak German. I need help to locate any information that I can about
my great great grandparents. My great grandmother was Emilie Magdalena
Hermine Sieling born 1872 in Oldenburg. She immigrated to the USA along with
her brother, August Sieling. She married Wilhelm Gottlob Pfander on 9 Oct
1896 in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. I am looking for her parents. The
marriage certificate states that her father was Henry Sieling and her mother
was Emilia Elisa Wemje. I cannot find anything at all on either family and I
don't know where to start. The certificate just states "Oldenburg" as place
of birth. Can someone offer any suggestions or does anyone recognize these
surnames? Thank you for any help you might be able to give me.
