Just have a question. Many of you state that the prefix "van" indicates a
name from the Netherlands (Holland) but does not this prefix exist on names
in the regions such as Oldenburg which are close to the border with Holland?
Sometimes yes, but you can say "van" come from the Netherlands. "van" is like "von" (from) in Germany.
