[OL]Parishes near Lastrup

Dear list members,

I was not able to find my Meyer and Schmidt ancestors in the Lastrup parish
films. Can someone tell me what the neighboring Catholic parishes would have
been in 1800? I am also wondering how far east Lastrup was from the Hannover
boarder during that time.

This map:

http://www.lkclp.de/3_staedte_und_gemeinden/sg_karte.shtml

shows the "Landkreis Cloppenburg" as it is today. However, it should
give you a good idea of how it looked in 1800 - as far as I know,
there have not been many changes.

I have a Meyer presumably from Molbergen in my ancestry - Maria Helena
Meyer, married to Johann Heinrich Lange, their daughter Maria
Elisabeth Lange was born about 1835 in Molbergen.

I wonder if there are any parishes without a Meyer? Do we have any
towns with a Jones or Smith?

If you look at the map whose address was shown here, take a look at
Essen. It bordered on Quakenbrück which became Hannover in 1803. So
it was close and only a few miles to the border.
