I am looking for information about my family that emigrated to the US from
Oldenburg. I have documents indicating Johann Karl Conrad Von Der Hamm (Van
Der Hamm), born 1838, came from Bakhorn, Oldenburg. I cannot find Bakhorn
should this be Bakum? I find nothing on the name Von Der Hamm. I believe the
name is Van Der Hamm.

Any information would be appreciated.

There is only one name Van der Ham on the CD with phone numbers in Germany:
Henricke Van der Ham, Wittelsbachstr. 21 A, 82110 Germering, T. (089)8417974.

Were your ancestors of catholik faith or of protestant faith?

There also is a village called 'Bockhorn' located 5323'N 81'O next
to part of North Sea, called 'Jadebusen'. I couldn't find any "Von der
Hamm" or "Van der Hamm" in Oldenburg region.

Kind regards

Juergen

There is a Bakhorn in Schleswig-Holstein, Kreis Segeberg (Bark-Bakhorn). Is
Oldenburg the Oldenburg in Holstein?
