Awhile back, this list helped me to confirm that my gggrandfather was Herman Heinrich Meirose born to Bernd MEIROSE and Cath. Angela STEINEMAN on 27 Dec 1793. I have been reading the Damme Church records and the only Bernd MEIROSE that I have found so far is Bernd Heinrich MEIEROSE born to Joan Henrich MEIEROSE and Christina NIEBERDING on 16 June 1772. That would make him 22 at the time of Herman Heinrich's birth. I have gone back to 1760 and so far that is the only Bernd MEIROSE that I have found. My question is, if he turns out to be the only one that I find that would be a reasonable age to be the father of Herman, do I just assume that he is Herman's father?
Also, there is a Bernd Meirose that married Maria Angela Steineman on 28 Oct 1790. I find no record of a Bernd Meirose marrying a Cath. Angela Steineman and no birth for a Cath. Angela Steineman. Could Maria Angela and Cath. Angela be the same person? These name changes are very confusing to me.
