Thanks for your help. Maria Meiners, daughter of Tobias Meiners /
Gertrude Elsen was my grandmother. She married Ferdinand Hellmann. I
only thought the family could have been from the Steinfeld/Oldenburg
area because thats where the Hellmann's were from. Yes, the family was
Catholic. Thanks
The Emigration book of Lingen shows this:
Meiners, Jan Heinrich, born about 1806 in Wenttrup, Heuermann, emigrated 1844
