Hi all,
I am looking for three siblings of the Marken family who emigrated to the US in roughly 1910-14 or after WW I.
1. Helene Sophie Marken, born 1886 in Edewecht, Oldenburg, Germany, died in USA, married.
and her brothers:
2. Johann Heinrich Marken, born 1887 in Edewecht, died in USA, not married. He probably is the 'Henry Marken' that SSDI reports as having died in Idaho in April, 1965. According to family lore he moved around the West with a threshing machine and 'got lost somehow'.
3. Fritz Marken, born 1892 in Edewecht, died (acc. to SSDI)1969 in Klickitat, Washington, not married.
Does anyone know more about these people ?

That's tough because of the marriage.

2. Johann Heinrich Marken, born 1887 in Edewecht, died in USA, not
married. He probably is the 'Henry Marken' that SSDI reports as having
died in Idaho in April, 1965. According to family lore he moved around
the West with a threshing machine and 'got lost somehow'.
The 1930 census shows a Henry J. Marken single 42 yrs old born in
Germany living in District 7, Township 4 of Inyo County, California.
He was a laborer working in a Soda Ash plant and rented a room for
$5/mo. Sonst passen keine Nenry's. Die meisten Marken kamen aus
Norwegen.
3. Fritz Marken, born 1892 in Edewecht, died (acc. to SSDI)1969 in
Klickitat, Washington, not married.
Again in the 1930 census a Fred Marken from Germany lived with his
wife Alvina L in District 26, Sturgis, Meade County in South Dakota.
He was 51 which does not fit the above.
A copy of the SSDI record should give more information as to who this
fellow was. No other Fred's fit any better.
