I started an e-mail to the Oldenburg mailing list, but pressed a button at the wrong time. Sorry. Here is my response.
I'm afraid there is no connection.
As far as I know the Macke/Brörmann family had 7 children, born between 1826 and 1846 (6 sons and 1 daughter, who died in her twenties). 3 of the 6 sons went to America (OHIO). They were called Hermann Heinrich, Franz and Bernard Friedrich. The other 3 remained in DAMME. They were called Clemens August, Chirstopher Heinrich and Bernard Heinrich. This Bernard is my great-grandfather.
He had 3 daughters. None of them by the name Elisabeth.
It is frustating to have all these equal names (Macke is a very common name, the same applies to christian names like Johann Heinrich, Bernhard Heinrich, Maria Agnes, Maria Elisabeth, etc.)
