Long ago I found the record of my ancestor, Heinrich Joseph
Derrenkamp's (widower, tailor, living in Crapendorf at time of
marriage) marriage in 1834 to Dorothea Hornung ( ambu? anbu? from
Crapendorf) in LDS film 0896276 which contains sacramentals for St.
Andreas Church in Cloppenburg. The parents for Heinrich Joseph are
given as "Heinrich Derrenkamp, Ambuhren (Anbauer?) and Anna Maria
Scheve." Prior to finding this, I was also given the information from
the parish church in a letter from the 1970s. So I know I am OK so
far.
I have the date of Heinrich's first marriage in 1823 to Maria
Elisabeth Ruholl, but have not been able to find record of this.
However, when I found what I believed to be the baptism of Heinrich
Joseph in the same LDS film for 1798 (Heinricus Josephus ex
Cloppenburg) the parents are given: Joes Henric Darenkamp and Anna
Maria Scheve.
In the same LDS film I found, also, in 1811, the birth of Anna Maria
Gertrude Derrenkamp, parents Joannes Henricus Derrenkamp and Anna
Maria Scheve. Family is from Lankum.
So all along, I have been thinking that the father of my ancestor is
some combination of Joes/Johannes Heinricus/Henric
Derrenkamp/Derenkamp/Darenkamp, right?
Wrong. Maybe.
Because in searching for the birth of Joes/Johannes, the father, I
found a marriage of a Caspar Derrenkamp of Lankum in 1834 (same year
as the wedding of my ancestors). Parents given: Heinrich Wessel
Derrenkamp, Ambuhren and Anna Maria Scheve!
Caspar is a surprise and so is the name "Wessel." These names have not
yet surfaced in my research for this line.
I have, also, the burial record of Anna Maria Adelheid Scheve who
died in August of 1844. She is listed as the wife of Heinrich
Darenkamp. Terrific.
So now I have doubts about the father of my ancestor, Heinrich Joseph
Derrenkamp.
The marriage of Heinrich (it looks like a "W" but the copy is so
terrible I can't say for sure) and Anna Maria Adelheid Scheve occurred
in late 1792.....The bride appears to have been from Luschl and I
cannot make out the name of the town for the Groom. This record is one
of a genealogist's worst nightmare...I guess the marriage took place
in Lusche? Presumably it is the town that I am finding on the Michelin
map above Hausstette and below Elstun? I am not getting results for
such a town in LDS "Place Search." I get Luschendorf.....
Was tun?
Thanks, Buffy
