[OL]Kleyer/Vogelpohl

Looking for origins of KLEYER family (Bernhard b. 1811, Henry b. ca 1818,
Katherine, Caroline, Mary) in Oldenburg. VOGELPOHL (Heinrich b. 1795)
possibly from Luesche. Either or both might have relationship with HEMPE
family. All are Catholic. Any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome.

Hello Cynthia,

Looks like there are many Vogelpohl or Vagelpohl people, Hempe or Hempen
people, and at least one Kleyer
in the St Vitus Catholic Church records on LDS film #0909903.
The Church is in Vechta in the parish of Vestrup. (I beleive I have that
correct?)
The film has various church records from 1692 to 1873.
People from L�sche attended this church at the time.

As far as the name, Vogelpohl or Vagelpohl, sometimes it looks like an "o"
after the V, and sometimes an "a."
I would suggest searching or requesting info on both spellings.
I think I used the "o", because I have seen the name Vogel in Cincinnati.

You can order the film from the nearest Mormom Church Family History Center.

I have been using this film to find my family and have some pages copied.

Cynthia - Adding to Marilyn's comments, there were Vogel's in St. Bernard,
Ohio (Hamilton County, Ohio - next to Cincinnati). Many people who settled
in St. Bernard in the later 1800's were from Damme.
