Pardon my use of En glish. My NIEHAUS ancestors lived in Neuenkirchen, Amt
Damme, bei Voerden. with my records going back to 1720. They were
Catholic, as we are.

Does your NIEHAUS family have roots in this area?

Hello--My sister married Carl Niehaus, son of Fred Niehaus, from Illinois
and Missouri, the ancestors came from Germany. My niece is starting her
Niehaus genealogy. Are any of your ancestors or relatives from Illinois or
Missouri?

Her parents are Georg Hermann Diedrich Niehaus and Beke Margaret Grone.
Is there a connection to your Niehaus ancestors?

Cincinnati, Ohio.) I have no records of Georg Hermann Diedrich Niehaus and

My Ggrandfather Henry NIEHAUS (b1845 in Neuenkirchen, Damme-emigrated 1865-
m Elisabeth Ferneding 1869 Cinti -d1895 Cincinnati) is my only Niehaus
direct ancestor who emigrated from Oldenburg to Cincinnati. His father was
Joesph Heinrich N (b1809 d1876). His grandfather was Johann Heinrich N (b
1776 d 1843). Henry had two Niehaus aunts in Oldenburg who emigrated to
U.S. earlier. I have no records of Henry, his father or grandfather having
brothers who survived childhood.
