Does anyone have information about the family of Johan Friedrich Herzog born September 1, 1834? He immigrated to the United States in April 1868 according to my information. I think his parents were Johann Heinrich Herzog and Maria van Handrup.

you have luck. The book "Auswanderungen aus dem Amt Damme" (published on my website) shows this emigration record:
Herzog,Friedrich,Heuermann,1,1868,Osterdamme
I found also the birth record, but yours date of birth is not correct, here the right date:
* 16.November 1834 in Damme, Johann Friedrich Herzog (notice: America)
parents: Johann Heinrich Herzog & Maria Anna Elisabeth van Handrup
lived in Mackelienings Erbzucht (tenant farmers on the Mackeliening farm)
witnesses: Hermann Heinrich Herzog, Johann Heinrich Rieking, Engel Meyer
The former Mackelienings farm was located in Damme-Osterdamme, but not still present.
The origin of Herzog is Damme-Rottinghaus-Greven, the origin of van Handrup is Holdorf-Handorf, the next corner.
Two years ago I visited the Rog Honkomp family in St.Paul,Minnesota, the ancestors came from Holdorf-Handorf too and emigrated to New Vienna Iowa.
