Is your Themann lutheran (northern of the province Oldenburg) or catholic?
If they is catholic then could be from the area of Vechta, Lutten, Hausstette or Steinfeld.
The Steinfeld curch register show this:
born 01.March 1848 in Steinfeld, parents: Henrich Themann and Anna Maria Wieferig
it shows not a Franziska.
Gedding is a name of Westphalia.

Thanks again for your reply. Franz Anton Themann(1852-1919) and
Franziska Themann(1849- ) were Catholics. Many catholic families from
Vechta emigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio. I will continue to search in
Cincinnati for the name of their hometown in Oldenburg.
Doug - My great grandmother was Bernadina Thamann, born in Cincinnati about
1851. Her parents were John Henry Thamann, born November 21, 1823 in
Neuenkirchen and Caroline Rosemeyer, born September 5, 1828 in Damme.
I would suggest checking the Damme and Neuenkirchen records for your Franz
Anton Themann.
