Oldenburg has a file which starts around 1869. Even after 1869 not everybody
really made that request. Many just went without permission.
Those records usually mention:
-The name, birth - date and birth place of the person wanting to emigrate.
-The name of the parents
-sometimes the reasons for emigration are explained
-sometimes the destination is mentioned (relatives who are already somewhere

Thanks so much for the information. Both my great-grandfathers came earlier,
one in 1858 and the other in 1865, but even though there would not be
anything on them, I am always glad to learn about more types of records.
