[OL]Bockhorn and Borckhorn

Thank you so much for the baptism information. I am not positive that they
were married in Loningen; he came to the US in 1849, and then went back for
her. I believe that they were cousins, as his name was also Wilhelm Lucke.
The family story was that he cried and moaned so much that his family chipped
in and sent him back to get her. It is possible that they married on board
the ship. Their first child was baptised in Louisville in 1852.

I have at least 3 other Lukens that I can tie back to Loningen by the
information that was provided to the funeral home (Schildt's) at the time of
various deaths. One is a Bernard Lucke m. Margaret Puester bef. 1848. There
was a Caroline Luken b. Loningen 1843. So much of the information is
incomplete!

A Cincinnati Luken said that she thought that there were 7 brothers that came
over and settled in the Louisville-Cincinnati location between 1845 and 1852,
but I have not seen any evidence of that. I do have two Bernard Lukens and
William Luken listed on the 1850 tax list in Louisville KY, and I have the
baptism record for Bernard Luken and Margaret Puester's twins in 1848.

Thanks again. If you ever run into anyone researching this line, please send
them my way!

Alex Luken
