Thank You very much for Your prompt response.
All the information about Joseph/Jacob in my posting came from the first two
sources You mentioned in Your response. In addition, Mr Kayss searched for
me the GeAGNO database and found only the information which turned out to be
irrelevant.
What I am hoping for is to find the residents lists [Einwohnerregister] or
registrations [Melderegister] for the respective towns/villages in Prussia
which were kept by the Prussian police (or Town authorities?) from about
1840 onwards.
Or perhaps lists of persons liable for military service [Meldepflicht]? Or
Prussian Army muster lists?
But I don't know yet where to look (perheps Geheimes Sataats-Archiv in
Berlin- Dahlem?) and what to look for (town registers? Prussian Army
records?).
Do You have any information on these matters?
I would be extremely grateful for any bit of relevant info.
