Dear Friends

First of all I want to apologise forusing English instead of German, but my rather insufficient command of German language had been in the past arich source of misunderstandings.

I am looking forany information on NOWAKOWSKI family living in the general area of Lautenburg/Soldau/Neidenburgin the first half of 19th century, especially about the following ancestors:

1.) Josef (Joseph?) NOWAKOWSKI who livedin 1862 in Borchersdorf near Soldau andwas married to Maria (Marie?) Kaczorek.

2.) Jacob (Jakob? Jacobus?) NOWAKOWSKI (most likelythe father of Josef) who lived in,oraround Lautenburg (West Prussia) or Soldau (East Prussia)in 1827 - 1829.

I would be grateful for any information, suggestion, or pointer.

With best regards

Hi Sebastian,
I am looking for any information on NOWAKOWSKI family living in the
general area of Lautenburg/Soldau/Neidenburg in the first half of
19th century, especially about the following ancestors:
I also have ancestors from Soldau (and surrounding villages), but,
unfortunately, I do not have any NOWAKOWSKI in my lists.
But I can give you some sources where you might get more information:
- Church of the Latter-Day-Saints ("Mormons"): they have some microfilms
of Soldau and also Borchersdorf. Please check the "Place Search" at
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp
- the states archive in Olsztyn, Poland, is the responsible archive for
the area around Soldau. You can check at
http://baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradziad.php?l=en about available sources.
- the "Historische Masurische Vereinigung"
(http://www.historische-masurische-vereinigung.de/) This site is in
German only, but you might understand it as well. This organisation
collects data about people who lived in the Mazurian area from church
books and other sources, and store these data in the "GeAGNO" database.
You can send an enquiry to Mr Reinhard Kayss who is the responsible
person for "Kreis Neidenburg" (i.e. Soldau, Borchersdorf and others).
Regards,
Jan
