Hi, the Ahlenstorf is a surname - I know of two who were here as early as
1857 - my g-grandfather Heinrich and someone named John who was 10 years
older - perhaps a brother or cousin. They seemed to know people in the area
I thought they might have emigrated from the same town, but I haven't found
them yet. I just keep ordering church/civil records filmed by the LDS each
time I get a clue.

I think my grandmother talked about Rosenwinkels from the time they lived in
Itasca in the early '20s. But so many names are familiar to me from studying
the church records and the census records, I can't be positive.
