I am researching the following families who came from Germany: Kirchhoff
and
Busching from Steyerberg; Dierkings & Wrede from Buren near Newstadt am
Rubbenbergge; Stuenkels from Basse am Kirchspeil. If you have any info
about
these families or their town of origin, please contact me. Thanks

The names Kirchoff and Stuenkel are seen on many of the documents I have
looked at while researching my Asche ancestors in DuPage Co., Illinois. They
are in church records of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Bensenville, IL,
there is Kirchoff Rd, in Arlington Hts, I think. If you check the DuPage
Co. Genealogical Society web site at www.dcgs.org, click on the online
information and look through the cemetery records, you will find them in
Addison Twp., perhaps others. They may also have been in Worth Twp. in
southern Cook Co. in 1850 - I am not sure about this, but my Asches lived
there before migrating to DuPage Co where I next find them in 1869.

I have not been able to find towns of origin in Germany for my ancestors -
only Hannover. Hoping that sometime, someone will recognize the names Asche
and Ahlenstorf and be able to point me in the right direction.

Hope this helps,
Anne

Dear Anne, My ancestors also settled in DuPage Co. in 1857 and were members of
the Zion Lutheran Church in Bensenville. The Thiemann's in my family tree also
came from Hannover specifically from Ebstorf, Uelzen, Hannover. I am not sure
what you were saying when you mentioned Ahlenstorf--- is that a surname or a
town? It sounds more like a town and there is a Altenebstorf just outside of
Ebstorf. This is a long shot but may be of help. Researching THIEMANN, KAISER,
TONNE, ROSENWINKEL in DuPage Co., Illinois
